Pastor Kennedy McGowan brings to his leadership of both the church and its largest mission, the Learning Centers, an enthusiastic personality, and a deep commitment to seeing children grow to their fullest potential, academically, emotionally, and of course spiritually.   Beyond his weekly participation in three different chapel experiences for the children of the Learning Centers, Pastor Kennedy can often be seen around the Learning Center campus giving greetings to students, meeting with directors on ways to strengthen our programs, or chatting with parents as they pick up their children.

During his eight years as the pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, he has led the church to fulfill a vision and mission to be a place where families get support for becoming the best they can be.  Pastor Kennedy’s door is always open to hear parent suggestions and concerns on how the church can do more to meet the needs of families, and help them connect to God’s amazing love for them.

His commitment to children and their well-being extends beyond the Learning Centers and the boundaries of Hollywood Florida: in partnership with a local synagogue, Temple Beth El, Pastor Kennedy has led our church to  to open an orphanage for HIV-positive children in Haiti and formed Hollywood Cares, a non-profit organization that supports the orphanage.

Kennedy loves the diversity of cultures in South Florida, and certainly enjoys the wonderful weather!   He loves spending time with his wife, Chantal Gagnon, a psychotherapist with a practice in Plantation, Florida, and with his son, Patrick.
