In our Preschool we nurture the whole child

The Preschool at First Presbyterian Learning Centers has warm, friendly and happy classrooms with big windows looking out onto plants and trees of the surrounding landscape and the nature playground.  Our classrooms inspire the children to do what they do best: learn about life!  With our innovative and research-based Creative Curriculum children develop rapidly. In every activity, they are constantly learning not only academic skills such as language and math, but also how to develop self-control and build confidence.  Our preschool is buzzing with children who are busy socializing, learning about themselves and how to get along with others.

We nurture children physically in our many play spaces

Young children’s needs for physical development are met on the preschool’s inspiring nature playground where trees, the outdoor mini-theater, Florida native plants and unexpected wild life from butterflies to lady bugs provide the scenery for daily exciting learning games. Two sheltered courtyards give the preschoolers additional space for exercising their large muscles groups through running, jumping and bike-riding.

We open children’s minds in our carefully designed classrooms

Three and four year old children at the preschool expand their mind, learning to use their imagination and think creatively.   They have many opportunities to pretend play in the dramatic play area, observe events and ask questions at the science table, make predictions and guesses while sorting, classifying and making patterns with colorful math counters shaped like mini dinosaur or fruits.

Through many interactive experiences, children increase their vocabulary, learn new words to express feelings and to describe events and objects. Children at the preschool learn in playful ways how to communicate with others, express themselves, converse with friends and teachers and gain more knowledge and vocabulary.

We delight in helping children expand their mind and make new discoveries every day.  Each day, our children encounter teachers who find it a joy to teach, and who love the children under their care.  Children enter a place where they feel loved, safe, and cared for.   Our teachers enjoy seeing each child grow and develop his or her own ideas, personality and character.  In all that we do at the preschool, we work to help each child become all that they were created to be.
