Our Sunday Ministries for Children
Our Church, First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, has a great Sunday ministry for children ages X and older, called “WaumbaLand” !
Each Sunday, after the first 15 minutes of worship in the sanctuary, children go to our innovative Sunday School program, WaumbaLand. Our Sunday Children’s Ministry takes place in the same building that houses our Learning Center so your children will be in a space already familiar to them. Daniel Williams, our Director of Family Ministries and a Middle School teacher at Westminster Academy, leads this fun, engaging and interactive program that enables your child to experience more deeply the wonder and beauty of God’s love for them.
At WaumbaLand, children learn about God in a way they can understand.
We know that children have different ways of learning. Some learn best through doing art and others through hearing a story, others by acting, etc. So our teaching style works with all the different ways children learn, and helps them build deep and lasting connections not only with God but with one another.
We believe children need to be seen AND heard!
At WaumbaLand, we give opportunities for your children to get fully involved in learning more about themselves and God’s love for them, even helping them share each week in worship before they head off to the ministry. We want children to know just how unique and wonderful they are! We create an environment that surrounds your children with affirmation and love, so that they don’t simply learn about God’s love, they experience that love through this loving community we create. We want WaumbaLand to be a place where children experience joy, encouragement, and get a taste of just how deeply God values and loves each of them.
