Our Staff & Teachers

Learning Centers Teachers and Staff are Carefully Chosen to Meet High Standards

At First Presbyterian Learning Centers our preschool and after school staff have dedicated themselves to working with young children.  Each teacher in our early childhood education programs has several years of experience working with young children.  Our teachers hold various degrees and certifications, such as Bachelor’s Degree in Education, National Child Development Associate Certificates (CDA) or a Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC).  Teachers as well as staff fulfill all requirements outlined by the Florida Child Care Licensing statues. These requirements include basic child care training as well as courses in infant and child CPR.  Each teacher and staff member goes through a background check and a fingerprint clearance letter from local and national law enforcement agencies prior to the first day of work.  All teachers and staff complete health checks every two years.

In addition, all our preschool and daycare support staff are background-checked and fingerprinted as well. Staff, entrusted with supervising the preparation of snacks and meals obtain a Florida Food Handler Certificate prior to the first day of work.   Staff members who provide transportation for bus tours, field trips and after school students with the First Presbyterian School bus are also fingerprinted, background-checked and hold a Florida commercial driver’s license with a student and passenger endorsement. They have a clean driving record, a U.S. Department of Transportation approved health certificate and are First Aid and CPR certified.

At our after school, camp, daycare, and preschool programs, your children will be cared for by a team of staff members dedicated to your children and properly trained and certified for their job function.  Our entire team is committed to serve your family with the highest standards of safety, educational excellence, and loving care.

Teachers Focused on Children's Development

Our Teachers Love Kids!

We hire teachers that love kids!  That’s important to us.  The teachers and staff throughout all the Learning Centers programs are passionate, hard-working and they love children. They decided to make working with children their career because they believe children are the greatest treasure for their families and society at large. This belief reflects the Church’s mission and values to serve families in our community.

Teachers and staff working in the child care program of First Presbyterian speak and act deliberately.   This means that they know that their words and actions impact their young students greatly. They are proud to make a positive difference in children’s lives. They give their best daily and with each and every learning activity to help parents build strong foundations for their children, so they can become happy and productive adults.
